Beats from GS and MS help US stock futures recover-check out the Dow Jones now
Not that long ago we had the Q4 earnings results from Goldman Sachs (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS). Both those firms beat the street in a number of earnings components and especially on equity trading. In terms of GS, it was a good beat on fee income too and the best yet of any rival on Wall Street. So, this news has helped to lift the US equity futures, both the S+P 500 and the Dow Jones. Earlier this morning the Dow Jones futures were pricing a reopening as low as 37,380. They are now pricing it at above 37,530. The index is still set to open lower, but given the rebound now, that could easily change when live trading resumes at 2.30pm GMT.
