Yesterday, as covered here in a later afternoon update, the DAX did press on, to set a new record close, reversing the earlier session drop to 22,715. Perhaps that close was not quite as high as seemed possible, when the index reached a new intraday all time high, at 22,882 near the end of play. The DAX later closed at 22,844, with a gain of 46 points on the session. It is priced to potentially set a new record opening this morning, provided it can commence live trading above the record starting point yesterday, at 22,851.37. That remains to new seen, but we shall shortly find out in the next 40 minutes, or so. The record run in the DAX seems to hold few bounds at the moment, but at the current levels, surely a degree of caution is warranted sooner or later? The prospect of peace in Ukraine has added a new dimension in recent days, but at the same time disappointment over the prospect of that actually happening may also remove it. We shall just have to see on that as things progress. The DAX is right now priced to reopen around 22,860
