Another record beckons for the Dow Jones later today?

The US equity futures markets are now higher than earlier this morning. That has seen the implied opening for the S+P 500 right now priced above 5,650 and the Nasdaq 100 is above 19,500 and close to 19,525. The Dow Jones is currently priced to reopen above 41,700, bearing in mind the index reached a new all time high yesterday, at 41,733. So, whilst not yet indicated to rise above that on the opening, it will not take much to see a new record high for the index later today. Of course the latest US retail sales data might get in the way of that prospect, but that is not due out for another 3 hours. Incidentally, the DAX has now pushed higher, despite what woeful ZEW report. The writing was probably on the wall for that, seeing as the index did not react lower when the ZEW data hit the screens. The Dow Jones is just now priced to reopen at 41,715
