Another record and another record close for the DAX yesterday

I hope it is of no surprise to note the standout gains in the DAX yesterday. As covered here at the time, the index rose above 17,600 for the first time ever. It peaked at 17,605 and closed pretty much on that high too, when ending the session at 17,601, with a gain of 44 points on the day. The potential driver behind these records was covered here in respect of rotation out of China and elsewhere. I will not repeat that again right now though. So, the DAX has pushed further into uncharted territory and in all honesty, looks set for more of the same again today. Perhaps a major caveat to that would be the fact, that today is the last trading day of the month and that might have an impact and deliver profit-taking after live trading resumes soon. We shall see on that. Meantime, the DAX futures are right now pricing another record opening, currently at around 17,630
