Another record and another record close for the DAX

The further surge in the German DAX yesterday saw the index reach a new milestone, when it set another all time record high, at 21,330. Profit-taking from that new high sent the index backwards into the close. The DAX fell back to 21,212, but it rebounded in the final 30 minutes of trading, closing 212 points higher, at 21,254- another record daily close for the index. Overnight and so far this morning the DAX futures have implied an opening for today at anything between 21,220 and 21,280. Right now the futures are pricing a largely unchanged opening, but with 90 minutes to go before live trading resumes, there is plenty of time for that outlook to change
